Just like most modern mobile phones, you can change the ringtone, and the sound played when you receive an SMS message on your Go.

Requirements
You need one of the newer TomTom Go models, this will not work on the Classic (original) Go. However. I have a 700 and tried it. I could not find the current ringtome file and after I copied one myself to the root it did not work.

How to Do it
Find yourself the sounds you want to use and convert them to a 22050Hz OGG file. Copy the sound you want to use as your ring tone to a file in the root directory of your SD Card called:
ringtone.ogg
to change the sound played when you receive an sms message copy the sound you want to use to the root directory and call it:
smsreceived.ogg
